Veterans Go With The Flow in the French Alps

Recently a group veterans made their way to the French Alps with our head of events, Rosie Thompson, for a trip like no other. What followed was five days of high speed action as they canoed in the white waters of Vallouise.

Camaraderie was served up as veterans of all backgrounds came together to push each other forward and work as a team to get to the other as one team. Trips like these are so important for us to run, as they allow veterans an opportunity to challenge themselves physically and mentally, and the outcome is always a strong sense of accomplishment and pride. One veteran on the trip summed it that feeling up by saying “5 days here is better than 2 years of therapy”.

Our beneficiaries had the most enjoyable experience whilst showing us that physical or mental injury doesn’t have to be the block that stops you from going for it and pushing yourself. The brother of one veteran who attended the trip summed it up perfectly by saying that it is “awesome what we can achieve collectively when people support each other” and we couldn’t agree more.
