Ex-Royal Marine Guides Blind Veterans on ‘Fantastic’ Mountain Walk

Not Forgotten beneficiary and volunteer, George MacHardy has been using his Mountaineering experience to take veterans of all ages and abilities on some beautiful Scottish hikes.

Jamie, a blind veteran was particularly impressed with George’s knowledge of the surrounding area, which he said ‘made all the difference’ as he described the beautiful scenery and towns overlooked by Ben Vrackie in Perthshire.

Jamie was part of the first group to join George on a series of mountain walks that will take place throughout Scotland in July and August.

He said: “It was a fantastic day, and the weather was kind to us as well. If you could plan a day to go hill walking, this was pretty much perfect.⠀

“George is a really interesting guy with lots of information, so he’s great to go on a walk with. He has a wealth of knowledge.”⠀
