Concerts in Care Homes Returns for 2022

It has slowly become a staple in The Not Forgotten event calendar. As the weather begins to warm (it happens sometimes!), forces entertainer Annie Riley dusts off her microphone and begins her vocal warm-ups as she prepares for a tour like no other.

The concerts in care homes series is one of our favourite events here at The Not Forgotten, as it brings joy and entertainment to veterans across the country. During the covid lockdowns of 2020, we found new ways to entertain and uplift those who have served, and it felt incredible to be able to do it again – only this time with more freedom!

Annie Riley, our forces entertainer has been on the road throughout most of Spring, bringing her top notch performances to care homes across the country. At the time of publication, Annie is currently touring Scotland as she brings Concerts in Care Homes to those across the border. Working tirelessly, you wouldn’t know that Annie has been performing for 5 weeks (with two more weeks to go!), as each show feels special, unique and personal.

Starting in April, the series of concerts run all the way through until July, with a staff member from one care home saying “What an amazing day we had with The Not Forgotten and Annie. The residents were all dancing and singing along and it was lovely to see how some of them carried on singing for days after!”

A success from start to finish, The Concerts in Care Homes series allows us to be closer to veterans and bring our services to them. It breaks a wall and gives veterans an opportunity to feel part of the wider community, reminding them that they are not alone and that the camaraderie still exists.
