A Return to the Slopes

This year, we were so excited to head back to the slopes and take two groups of beneficiaries on a ski trip like no other. After a long absence due to the pandemic, the atmosphere was electric as our first group gathered at the airport, ready to board the flight to Breckenridge.

Over two weeks we hosted 26 veterans and, with the support of BOEC Adaptive Sports, took to the snowy slopes in a number of ways. From sit-skiing to blind skiing, veterans of all backgrounds were able to enjoy themselves and enjoy a trip like no other.

All Not Forgotten holidays are not only designed to boost confidence and morale, but also mental and physical health, and our skiing trips are just the start of a busy calendar filled to the brim with experiences that provide both challenge and comradeship. The positive effect of these breaks away are obvious from the smiles and laughter that emerge, even from those who seem initially apprehensive, and from the friendships that are created as a result of a shared experience.

“I have learned to ski, fallen over, gotten up and carried on. I am definitely leaving Colorado a better version of myself.”
