Respite and Relaxation in Jersey

We were fortunate enough to take a group of veterans to Jersey recently, for five days of respite, relaxation and, thankfully, sunshine! From a fast paced boat trip through the waters to taking to the skies to see island from above, the group got to see Jersey from all angles.

The group were invited to the residence of the Governor of Jersey; Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, where they were given the opportunity to share stories and get to know each other. From day one, friendships that will hopefully last a life time were formed.

A visit to the War Bunkers and underground tunnels of the German Fortifications of the island shone as a sad reminder of War, and our group took their time to pay their respects.

The therapeutic power of breaks like these is undeniable, as shown by the many emails we have received from those who attended:

We would like to thank The Not Forgotten for inclusion on the recent Jersey trip .  We can only describe it as a trip of a lifetime. From beginning to end it was jammed packed with activities we could only dream of doing. The boat trip out to Les Ecrehous and then a day spent exploring the bunkers and underground tunnels with our own guide . The trip was topped off with a flight around  the Island in a small aircraft . What a sureal experience. We can only describe it as epic. It was all made special due to the rest of the group and it was so well organised. The hotel was wonderful and we truly felt special. Thank you once again for the opportunity.  It was just the tonic we all needed.
