Tour de Not Forgotten
This September, twelve hardy veterans and serving personnel are undertaking a unique cycling challenge to raise money for The Not Forgotten…
From 17 to 23 September, the team – including amputees, those with visual impairment, mental injury and trauma including PTSD from their time in the forces – will be pushing through a gruelling 475-mile cross-country cycle challenge – the ‘Tour de Not Forgotten’.

Their route, designed especially for us by our expert cycling partners Bikecation, forms roughly the shape of The Not Forgotten’s elephant’s head logo… from the grave of our founder, Marta Cunningham, in West Ealing, London; calling in to greet veterans and supporters at Portsmouth, Poole, Taunton, Bristol and Hereford; and finally finishing after 7 days at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
Supported by Bikecation, the veterans will tackle up to 95 miles each day over 6 days, an inspirational test of physical and mental endurance, pushing personal boundaries and raising money at the same time for The Not Forgotten.
For the rest of us not feeling quite so athletic, there will be plenty of ways of supporting the Tour de Not Forgotten without getting on a bike – if you live anywhere near any of the stopping points (see the map) we’d LOVE you to join us at our arranged finish line to cheer the cyclists in to the end of each stage – we will publish exact locations soon (they will be local pubs or hotels).
