Style a Smile for a Veteran

The Not Forgotten launches children's art competition for Armed Forces Day

To mark Armed Forces Day 2026 The Not Forgotten is proud to announce the ‘Style a Smile for a Veteran’ art competition for children, running from now until the end of November to raise money and awareness for the ’28 For 28’ campaign.

Know any children who might like to take part? All you need to do is request a colouring sheet (we have two different styles of veteran to choose from), then get the kids to draw, colour and decorate their sheet to represent a someone they know.

It might be a veteran they know – Mum, Dad, Gran or Grandad, friend or neighbour; or it might be anyone else in their life - it doesn't have to be a veteran! Whoever they draw is sure to raise a smile amongst our veteran community. The more creative the better!

The competition is open to children up to age 12 and will be judged in two categories – up to age 7, and 7-12 year olds. The judges (a panel of experienced veteran artists) will judge all entries on technical skill, creativity and interpretation of the theme, with a £100 gift card for each age group winner.

The entry fee is just £2.80, plus £1.55 postage, with all proceeds going to the 28 For 28 Challenge total.

To request an entry sheet please email karlie@thenotforgotten.org

Then head to our DONATION PAGE to donate £4.35 (entry fee+postage). When donating please select the reason for donating as 'Style a Smile for a Veteran'.

If you think a school or youth group near you might want multiple sheets for groups of children we'd love to hear from you too.

One entry per child. Entries must be submitted by their parent/guardian (18+)

We can't wait to see all the smiles!
